Jail
On this page3
The panel has its own admin jail: you set where it is and how far a jailed player may walk. Staff can also send a player to the police prison of your own prison script, when a supported one is running.
Admin jail
The admin jail is built into the panel. It works on every framework and needs no other resource. The
key is in config.lua.
| Key | Default | Allowed | What it changes in game |
|---|---|---|---|
Config.AdminJail | A table with the two fields below | A table · false | false switches the admin jail off. |
coords | vec4(1691.5, 2565.9, 45.56, 180.0) (Bolingbroke prison yard) | A position vec4(x, y, z, heading) | The spot a jailed player is put on. It is the middle of the area they may move in. |
radius | 40.0 | Metres, 5.0 or more | How far from the spot they may walk. Farther out, they are put back on the spot. |
Config.AdminJail = {
coords = vec4(1691.5, 2565.9, 45.56, 180.0),
radius = 40.0,
}What a jailed player gets
| Rule | In game |
|---|---|
| Held around the spot | A player who leaves the radius or gets into a vehicle is put back on the spot and reads: "You are in admin jail. Stay here until your time is up." |
| No weapons, no fighting, no vehicles | Shooting, punching and getting into a vehicle are switched off. |
| Time on screen | A text at the top of the screen, for example "Admin jail: 12 min left". |
| The time only runs while they play | Leaving the server stops the clock. After a rejoin or a restart they are back in the jail. |
| When the time is up | They are put back where they stood before and read: "You were released from jail." |
| Longest time | 10080 minutes (one week). |
Pick another place
- Stand on the new spot in game.
- Open the quick menu with
/adminmenu. - Open the Tools tab and press Copy my position.
- Open
config.luaand paste the text ascoords. - Set
radiusto fit the place: a jailed player may walk that far from the spot. - Restart the resource.
vector4(what the menu copies) andvec4are the same thing.- The radius counts in every direction, also up and down.
- A
radiusunder5.0counts as5.0.
Switching the admin jail off
Config.AdminJail = false| Your server | What staff see |
|---|---|
| No prison script | The Jail button is gone. |
| A supported prison script | The Jail button stays for the police prison. Choosing Admin jail answers: "The admin jail is switched off on this server." |
Police prison
There is no config key for it. In the Jail window staff choose Which jail: Admin jail or Police prison. The second choice is only there when a supported prison script is running.
| Prison script | Level |
|---|---|
qb-prison | Supported |
xt-prison | Supported |
| Any other prison script | Stub / snippet: your developer adds it in the open file bridge/jail.lua |
The panel hands the player to the prison script, with the minutes staff typed. It takes the same steps your police job takes for its own jail command.
| Admin jail | Police prison | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs | Nothing | A supported prison script |
| Who keeps the time | The panel | The prison script |
| Place and rules | Config.AdminJail | The prison script |
| Jail a player | The player must be on the server | The player must be on the server |
| Release a player | Works while they are offline too | The player must be on the server |
| What staff read | Why |
|---|---|
| "This server has no police prison connected." | No supported prison script is running. |
| "The prison script did not accept that." | The prison script did not take or release the player. |
The panel looks for the prison script each time it opens. Start the prison script, then open the panel again.
Permission
Both jails, and the release, need Jail / release (player.jail). The default ranks God, Admin
and Moderator have it. See Super-Admin & Ranks.
